Anthropic partner program

Claude Partner Badge: Claude Code. What it is and why it matters

Anthropic validates that consultants can scope, deploy, configure, and run Claude Code activations end-to-end. Here is what the work covers and what to look for when choosing an AI partner.

I earned the Claude Partner Badge: Claude Code from Anthropic after eight courses and a scenario-based capstone. It records completion of that learning path. It is not a claim of company-wide Anthropic partner status, and it is not substitute proof for a particular client rollout.

What the work covers

The program follows five areas of a real Claude Code deployment, each with decisions leadership owns:

1. Governance and managed configuration

  • Managed settings enforce org-level rules at the top of the config hierarchy.
  • Controls cover SSO login, organization selection, and MCP server installs.
  • Permission rules evaluate deny, ask, then allow, with denial first.

2. MCP and team access

  • MCP defines which tools and resources each agent may use.
  • RBAC and SCIM control access; plugins distribute configs consistently.
  • Approval processes decide which MCP servers get added and by whom.

3. Deployment paths and data protection

  • Check whether data trains models, retention limits, and Zero Data Retention.
  • Map cloud agreements and platforms like Microsoft Foundry upfront.
  • Align DLP, CASB, SIEM, eDiscovery, and legal hold with tool owners.

4. Features and technical architecture

  • Commands live in Markdown files; Skill descriptions route work.
  • Subagents isolate context; hooks block edits, notify, and log for audit.
  • Pick models deliberately and keep secrets in secrets managers.

5. Rollout strategy that survives first contact

  • Pilots that shine in presentations often struggle with real users.
  • Training, exception handling, and named support owners go live before launch.
  • Leadership owns business accountability against a baseline set beforehand.

Why it matters when you hire

A badge shows someone completed the training. What matters is how they apply it:

  • Ask for project examples. Know what the consultant owned and how results were verified.
  • Separate credentials from delivery proof. Course completion and badges show preparation, not outcomes.
  • Demand operator discipline. Look for employee involvement, measured outcomes, and named tool owners.
  • Check fit beyond one vendor. Credentials reflect Anthropic’s own partner program; the right platform depends on your business need.

How I use this with clients

Through ABLE Leadership’s 90-Day Executive Advisory and keynote work, that training informs how we help leadership teams:

  • Diagnose manual work, unclear authority, and undocumented steps before choosing technology.
  • Set measurable outcomes first, like hours returned to staff or lower cost to serve.
  • Run scoped Claude Code activations with governance, security, and adoption built in from day one.
  • Equip employees to improve operations, with AI serving the strategy instead of driving it.
